Gnadenthal – Switzerland

Das Kloster Gnadenthal bei Niederwil im Kanton Aargau ist ein ehemaliges Kloster. Es befindet sich rund zwei Kilometer nördlich des Dorfzentrums am Ufer der Reuss. Seit dem Ende des 13. Jahrhunderts lebten die Frauen der Gemeinschaft nach den Regeln des Zisterzienserordens. Die Abtei bestand bis zum Aargauer Klosterstreit im Jahr 1841 und nochmals von 1843 bis 1876. Nach einer vorübergehenden Nutzung als Tabak- und Zigarrenfabrik ist im Kloster seit 1894 eine Pflegeanstalt eingerichtet, die durch moderne Gebäude ergänzt wurde und sich heute «Reusspark» nennt.

Venice – Italy

Venice is a city in northeastern Italy and the capital of the Veneto region. It is situated across a group of 118 small islands that are separated by canals and linked by bridges, of which there are 400. The islands are located in the shallow Venetian Lagoon, an enclosed bay that lies between the mouths of the Po and the Piave Rivers. Parts of Venice are renowned for the beauty of their settings, their architecture, and artwork. The lagoon and a part of the city are listed as a World Heritage Site.

Colmar – Alsace

Colmar is the third-largest commune of the Alsace region in north-eastern France. It is the seat of the prefecture of the Haut-Rhin department and the arrondissement of Colmar-Ribeauvillé.

The town is situated on the Alsatian Wine Route and considers itself to be the “capital of Alsatian wine” (capitale des vins d’Alsace). The city is renowned for its well-preserved old town, its numerous architectural landmarks, and its museums, among which is the Unterlinden Museum, with the Isenheim Altarpiece.
